On the day of the murder Amber Wright would lure Seath Jackson over to a home owned by Charlie Ely. What Seath did not know was that along with Amber and Charlie that others were waiting. Kyle Hooper, the half brother of Amber Wright, Justin Soto and Michael Bargo Jr were hiding on the property.

When Seath Jackson arrived he would be ambushed, beaten and fatally shot. After the fifteen year old was dead the group would then dismember the body and set it on fire

Seath Jackson Murder Case

A Florida teen accused of luring her boyfriend to his death in 2011 has been convicted of his murder in a retrial, PEOPLE confirms.

It took jurors just two hours of deliberation to convict Amber Wright, 19, of first-degree murder in the death of 15-year-old Seath Jackson, according to WESH. Wright’s previous conviction was overturned because she had not been properly read her Miranda rights.

Wright was just 15 herself when she lured Jackson to a Summerfield home where he was beaten, tortured, shot, and burned. Though Wright did not physically attack Jackson, prosecutors argued that she was just as guilty in his death.

Four others have been convicted in Jackson’s murder, with one, 23-year-old Michael Bargo, now the youngest person on Florida’s death row, The Ocala Star-Banner reports. Kyle Hooper, 21; Justin Soto, 25; and Charlie Ely, 23, are serving life sentences.

Wright’s attorney, Junior Barrett, had argued that she did not know Bargo was going to “take things to the level he did.”

“Where is the evidence that she wanted him to be killed?” Barrett asked the jury.

But Assistant State Attorney Amy Berndt said there was plenty of evidence, playing a clip of a conversation between Wright, Hooper and Ely at the Marion County Sheriff’s Office two days after the murder. (They did not know the conversation was being recorded.)

“He hit me. He almost gave me an STD,” Wright says in the video. “He cheated on me. He turned my friends against me.”

Berndt urged jurors to listen to the “venom” in Wright’s voice and also pointed to references to a plan, which indicates Jackson’s murder was premeditated.

Wright showed no emotion as the verdict was read, according to The Star-Banner, though her mother cried outside the courtroom.

Wright’s sentencing is scheduled for Feb. 23, WFTV reports.
